Vannassen is a small lake in the municipality of Stavanger with recreational areas and parkland, located in between Hetland and Hillevåg . Vannassen was the waterworks for Hetland at the beginning of the 1900s.
Today, it is a popular recreational area with trails and park area. People jog and walk around the lake. There is a large playground, small soccer field as well as several benches and grassy plains. You can feed the birds, have a picnic or just enjoy the tranquility of the place. It is less crowded than Mosvatnet (and much smaller).
It has been a tradition for residents in the area to celebrate Sankthans here, with bonfires and festivities. Each year the Russ from Nord-Jæren usually have multiple celebrations here as well.
