All waste is to be sorted and disposed of properly. All the various kinds of waste we receive are either recycled or disposed of in a responsible manner. A pre-condition for this is that the waste has been properly sorted and is unpolluted by other kinds of waste. By sorting at source you contribute to a better environment. Matavfall (Brown Bin)
You get bioposer once a year (December). Do you need more, you can buy bioposer at Renovasjonen Authority, Svanholmen 3, or at Forus Services Market, Olav Kyrresg. 23, Stavanger.You can throw leftovers and garden waste(leaves) in the brown bin. No ashes, sand, pebbles or stones, vacuum bags, or ordinary bags(use biobags).

Papir (Green Bin)
No books, books can be delivered to the Fretex or Second hand store of your choice.

Restavfall (Black Bin)
Everything else can go in this one! Fabric, plastic, metal glass and whatever else you come up with.

Glass, Plastic & Metal
There are reception stations around town for these called “Local recycling points” most larger grocery stores have them.

Red Bin (special order)
Hazardous waste collected from subscribers twice a year. Here you get tips on what to put in the red container.

Hazardous waste that would harm nature, animals and humans (even in small quantities) must be placed in the red bins. Hazardous waste should never be emptied into the toilet, swallow, street manhole or in regular waste container as it can poison the environment or our water. Be sure to submit all hazardous waste properly.

All subscribers in the municipality of Stavanger has been awarded a red container of hazardous waste. Exceptions are the city center near residential areas. The containers emptied once in spring and once in fall.

Electronic
Electrical and electronic equipment waste (EE waste) can be returned to shops that sell this type of equipment or to recycling stations.

Christmas Tree
Collection of Christmas trees: Week 2. Set your tree next to your other bins for collection. Renovasjonen Næring is in charge of Christmas tree collection. Contact them if your tree has not been collected.
