Gamle Stavanger Julemarked
This Sunday 27 November is the atmospheric Julemarked (Christmas market) in Gamle Stavanger. In connection with this market, there will be activity day at the Norwegian Canning Museum of smoking salmon. There will also be selling julesardiner (Christmas sardines) and årgangssardiner (Vintage sardines). The museum will also display a movie ’40 years at Straen and Stavanger’ which is a documentary about the last days of Norway’s last sardine cannery. Visitors can tour the Norwegian and English.
Gløgg(Mulled wine), smultringer (donuts) and fun!
In connection with the Julemarked will be free entry to the Arbeiderboligen from 1920 which is located next to the Norsk hermetikkmuseum (Norwegian Canning Museum). There you can see how the workers lived when they worked at the canning factory and at the same time enjoy mulled wine, hot chocolate, waffles and donuts.
Cafes, galleries and songs
All shops, galleries and cafes in Gamle Stavanger will be open that day. The cafe in Øvre Strandgate 80a will be open. There, community organization serving good food and drink. From 12.30 to 13.30 the ladies choir of Tasta (damekoret Tasta Kvinns) will be singing Christmas songs at Einar Hedéns plass. [text via, SE translated]

Tou Scene Julemarked
Tou Scene, located at Kvitsøygata 25 in Storhaug is also having a Julemarked on Sunday from noon till 16.

Presenting of the Stavanger Christmas Tree
The Stavanger Christmas tree in the Sentrum will be presented this Sunday, it is an event for the Family. Make your way into the Sentrum to the Cathedral Square from 16.20-18:00. The opening will take place in connection with The Salvation Army ignition of the Christmas tree (17:00) at the Cathedral Square. There will be treats, choirs and a speech. More info here.
