Where are you from?
My background is a mixed one. Being born in Norway, growing up in New Zealand, and living in Australia and the UK has given me the ability to understand and adapt to the challenges one faces in ‘change’ environments and in relocating individually and with a family. It’s also given me a unique cross cultural perspective.
How long have you lived in Stavanger?
I’ve lived in Stavanger on and off for the last 16 years. Initially I came here to visit a cousin.
What do you think of this city so far?
I love Stavanger. It’s a fantastic little town to live in and once you make a choice to understand and accept the fact that Sundays aren’t for shopping and that outdoor activities require several different types of clothing, particularly good rain clothing, it makes life a lot easier. Stavanger is without a doubt my favourite town in Norway, as it’s a lively place with a lot of atmosphere. I so appreciate the fresh air and the wide open spaces, after spending the last 3 years in London.
What kind of courses does Consensio Coaching run and are they in English or Norwegian?
The courses are designed for groups or individuals. They’re designed as workshops or tailor made for individuals. I run both Norwegian and English courses.
Can you please share more with us about your expatriate/repatriate coaching courses?
Adapting to change is often a challenge for expatriates and often they find themselves struggling with making the necessary adjustment. During these times, the expatriate normally finds themselves managing the cultural adjustment process alone – and having a difficult time doing so. This is where the coaching comes into play and experience shows that timing is important, and that the first 2 to 6 months are crucial. I’ve specialized in Expatriate/Repatriation coaching/workshops and career coaching which links in well with the expatriate/repatriation coaching, as this is the perfect opportunity to actually define the individuals’ needs around career and development.
What about Parent Coaching?
The Parent Workshops are designed to raise awareness around the areas of parenting that you already do well. It also identifies the areas where there’s room for improvement. Being a parent is the most rewarding and important job you will ever do. It is a huge and exciting responsibility, but most of us muddle through, trying to combine family with career, too busy thinking about the practicalities of running a household. So we need to think about what is really important to us and our children. You can be the best parent you can be with the right coaching and make family life the best it can be. We only have one opportunity to raise our children…why not give it our best shot.
What is your background?
I’m an accredited coach and NLP Practitioner from the Coaching Academy in London where I was a protégé student. The Coaching Academy is Europe’s largest and most experienced coach training school.
What made you set up Consensio Coaching?
I set up Consensio Coaching because I love working with people. Everyone is so unique and the process of raising awareness around a persons’ potential is incredibly rewarding. Whatever the persons’ agenda, exploring what needs to happen from where they are now to where they want to be is positive and beneficial.By doing the same thing we’ve always done, we’ll get the same result we’ve always got.Which is great when that something works, but if you want a different result you need to DO something different. Understanding how to manage situations in life, and being motivated to do something about it gives a great sence of achievement and fulfilment.
How much are the course fees?
The fees vary depending on whether it’s a group workshop or individual coaching. Typically the group workshops will cost kr 350 per person when paying privately. Companies pay a set price for these workshops and coaching programmes.
How long do the coaching sessions usually last?
The individual sessions last for 1 1/2 hours. The workshops approximately the same.
Where are the courses held?
Individual coaching sessions are held in my office, and the group workshops can be held at schools or club houses.
How many people are there for a course?
The group workshops are anywhere from 10 to 30 people.
How can you be contacted?
I can be contacted by phone 4641 2959 or email. My website has all the details of all my courses.
Thank you Randi, for your time. We wish you all the best with Consensio Coaching!
