Having moved to a new country, especially Norway, the price of baby equipment here can come as a shock to many soon-to-be parents. Here is an overview of the cost of things you will most likely have in preparation for a new baby:

Equipment for Mom
•Maternity clothes – 150 NOK (for a simple top) to 800 NOK
•Nursing innerwear and clothes – 150 NOK to 600 NOK
•Moisturisers and creams -50 NOK and above

Baby Clothing
•Onesies – 50 to 300 NOK
•Outdoor fleeces – 300 to 800 NOK

Out with Baby
•Car seat – 1800 NOK to 4000 NOK
•Pushchair – 5000 NOK to 10000 NOK
•Raincover, insect net – usually comes with the stroller you bought. If not, each usually costs 300 NOK to 500 NOK
•Umbrella – 400 to 600 NOK
•Stroller bag – some brands offer a bag with the stroller, otherwise they cost from 600 to 1500 NOK
•Diaper/Storage bag – 600 to 1500 NOK
•Blanket – 80 to 500 NOK
•Sheepskin rug – 300 to 1000 NOK
•Baby carrier – 600 to 1200 NOK

Nursery Basics
•Crib – 800 NOK – 7000 NOK
•Quilt – 200 to 1600 NOK
•Diaper changing table – 700 NOK to 2500 NOK
•Dresser or bins for clothing storage – 600 NOK to 2000 NOK
•Glider or rocking chair – 700 to 3000 NOK
•Baby monitor – 600 to 2000 NOK

Bathing and Baby Care
•Baby bathtub – 150 to 500 NOK
•Baby shampoo and body wash – from 40 NOK
•Baby lotion, nappy cream – from 30 NOK

Feeding Your Newborn
•Breastfeeding support pillow – 500 NOK to 800 NOK
•Breast pump – 500 NOK to 4000 NOK
•Nursing bra – 150 NOK to 600 NOK
•Breast pads – from 40 NOK for 50 pads
•Lanolin cream – from 80 NOK
•Bottles and nipples – from 80 NOK per bottle
•Bottle and pacifier sterilizer – 500 to 1000 NOK
•Baby formula – around 150 NOK for 600g (this differs from store to store and brand to brand)

Diapering
•Disposable diapers – from 60 øre per diaper (depends on size)
•Baby wipes – from 15 NOK per pack
•Diaper Rash Cream – from 50 NOK

Baby Soothing and Entertaining Equipment
•Baby swing – from 700 NOK
•Pacifiers – from 40 NOK for 2
•Infant bouncer – 800 to 1200 NOK
•Play mat or play gym – 700 NOK to 1000 NOK
