Welcome! We are extremely glad that you have found us! We at Stavanger Expats have been working very hard to bring you all that you need to know when coming to live in Stavanger as well as help when you have already been living here! An expat (ěks’pāt’) is a person who lives outside their native country, just to be clear on terminology. We are a group of fellow expats who had been unable to find answers to all our expats questions in one place – so we decided to create one.
The site is divided into several categories such as Culture, Moving, Living, Work and Social. Within each of these you can find out various types of information. We have added a forum to help with any questions that you might have as well as allow you to connect with local expats. In addition to the vast amount of information on the site, an additional feature is our weekly articles – have a look around or search for what you are looking for!
When moving abroad the most important thing is to make new friends and get connected within the community. We suggest you check out the Getting Involved page to learn more. We will be posting monthly events with relevant information to help you with your experience. Make sure to sign-up, when you do this it will allow you to use the forum, leave comments and receive important site updates. You can also sign up for RSS Updates.
Our commitment to you is to provide the information that you need during this important time in your life and making sure to our best ability that it is up-to-date and accurate. If you see something that needs correcting, please let us know – there is a vast amount of information here! Also, if you see something that should be here, please let us know. We always welcome your feedback as we continue to improve this site, since it is to benefit YOU!
The site has just had its 2nd Birthday, we are so happy to have been providing information for over 2 years now. You can read more about our Second Birthday here.
